New Heritage

GROUP MEMBERS: Brian Castellano (TENOR) He is the youngest member of the group but has a lot of experience as a vocalist, musician, and performer in the Tri-state area. Like the other group members, Brian enjoys diverse musical tastes and you can hear those influences in his style of singing. Brian has often mentioned that his friends wonder, with his style and musical background, why he chooses to sing Gospel Music? One word; passion! Brian’s passion for Southern Gospel music and the simple yet powerful messages that emanate from it is evident to anyone who has talked to him or watched him sing. He has a verse that is very close to his heart, but meaningful to the entire group … 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. Determination, dedication, and integrity are as important as any other factor in determining the right fit for your group. Throw in God-given talent ... Brian has all of those things in abundance. ********** David Ford (BARITONE) When the group is not singing on the weekend it is not unusual to find David umpiring local baseball games, serving as the PA announcer for basketball games at Evansville Day School, playing music with his family, and serving in the praise and worship band at American Baptist East as a vocalist and bassist. The son of a Pastor, David has literally been singing for most of his life and was a founding member of River City Quartet and served as their lead vocalist and emcee through 2001. It would be 10 plus years before David found his way back to the music he loved. "After being out of southern gospel music for over 10 years, this group has made the move "back home" feel very comfortable. I couldn't have ever imagined a better bunch of guys to be associated with than Dave and Brian. God's timing is always best for us, we just need to trust Him for it." Says David Ford. David’s favorite bible passage is from Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. ********** Darci Castellano (SOPRANO) Leo Buscaglia once wrote “Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.” It is with that wonderful thought in mind that we welcome Darci as the newest member of New Heritage. Darci has been a part of the music culture of the Tri-State area for many years and is an accomplished soprano. She has demonstrated tremendous diversity in her career including being a featured vocalist with The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra in 2013 “Concert on the Lawn”. She has also served in, and led praise and Worship teams for several area churches including American Baptist East, St. Marks, and Catalyst Church. The paths we take in life are not always straight and directions are not always clear and like most of us; Darci has found this to be true. She had aspirations of being a professional gospel singer at a young age but life has a way of taking over and sending us down different paths. But, also, like many of us, her faith has seen her through. Her favorite bible passage is Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Darci is a dedicated, passionate, and professional vocalist and we are thrilled that God has called her down a path to serve with New Heritage and when you hear her, we are sure you will be thrilled as well! New Heritage is privileged to carry on a great tradition of proclaiming the gospel through song and giving GOD the glory for all we have!
