Marcus called together a few of his friends and in just 45 minutes, made an audition tape singing an acapella version of the Ray Charles classic, “Hit The Road Jack.” He sent that tape to producers at NBC, and a few months later, got a call that they were going to compete on one of the network’s biggest shows to date, “NBC’S America’s Got Talent.” What started out as just a few friends singing around the living room in front of a wall of records, quickly turned into a live televised performance with an at-home audience of over 40 million! What many viewers didn’t know was that this wasn’t Marcus’ first time in a reality competition. Just a few years prior, Marcus Terell appeared as the “Darker Elvis” on Season 3 of FOX’S hit show “American Idol” where he advanced to the Hollywood Round after receiving the green light from Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and even Simon Cowell.
