About Holland Elektro
‘I have always been wild about rock guitar intro’s, and always felt they were too short. Most of the time I even regretted the singer to start doing his thing...! So why not play a good riff longer, spin it out and skip the vocals ? Automatically you will leave the classic song structure of verse and chorus: it’s more like playing tracks, like in dance music. We try to achieve the same hypnotic effect as in trance and techno.’
Thus spoke Eric Lensink, founder and one of the guitar players of Holland Elektro, the new rock sensation from The Netherlands. In only a short time the band has settled a vast live reputation, playing festivals all over The Netherlands. It’s an instrumental band, dominated by two heavy guitars.
‘There is something magical about two guitars playing the same riff’, says Eric. ‘It sounds so fat and you know, they’re never exactly tuned the same way. It adds a little flanging effect to the sound. But most of all: it’s rock and roll. When you hear it, you’ll want to destroy something. At least, that’s the effect it has had on me since I was a child.’
Thinking of a band name for this new experiment, his eye fell on the name on his vacuum-cleaner: Holland Elektro. ‘Electric guitar music from Holland. Can’t make it more clear.’
Holland Electro is currently working on their debut-cd, wich is scheduled september 2016
