Devil Grass

Devil Grass is a Phoenix, Arizona based act that plays an energetic blend of dark, loud, and high-lonesome tumbleweed rock’n’roll. The act came together toward the end of the summer of 2015, comprised of veteran players recently relocated from scattered east coast cities. Devil Grass released their debut single, “In The Cut,” in February of 2016, recorded with acclaimed valley producer Cory Spotts, with a music-video for the song dropping shortly thereafter. The single will be featured on the outfit’s forthcoming EP “Dog + Cross,” also being produced by Spotts, slated for a late September release. Since late 2015, the band has been regularly gracing Phoenix-area stages with their high-energy and dynamic live performances, playing local spots such as Last Exit Live, Rebel Lounge, Yucca Tap Room, Rogue Bar, Rips, and others, on bills with acts ranging in vibe from subtle americana to punk and sludgy heavy metal. Devil Grass’s music draws influences from a variety of sources, ranging from alt-country, dark folk, doom metal, indie-rock, and many others. The band was recently described by Mitchell Hillman of the Phoenix New Times as belonging “to the growing camp of ‘Southwest Desert Rock’… along with any other band that allows you to taste the Sonoran wind in their music.” In all, the band provides a memorable and original experience.
