Fantastic concert, great pairing with Vasen

The venue is magnificent. Take in a show there sometime soon.
Hawktail threesome arrived with Vasen twosome in tow, a wonderful Swedish band
that has been an inspiration for a whole host of American musicians, among them the Hawktail trio.
It quickly became clear that the personality of the gig belonged to the Vasen, spinning tales and providing a sort of quixotic comic relief. Tales of doing gigs whilst on a bike tour, without a word of explanation of how they transported their musical gear. Clearly they enjoyed speaking with their audience. And this was the Nyckelharpa's first visit to Wisconsin!
The combined musicians were delightfully in tune with each other, the highlight being
the most powerful rendition of UNLESS, Hawktail's signature tune (IMO). I was amazed.
At the end of the concert I realized that I wanted it to begin over again at once, so that I could really listen more deeply. Here's hoping a concert CD is created soon.

About Hawktail
Four luminaries of acoustic music today have united as Hawktail to create this
album of modern, original instrumental music, a dormant category for bands
within the American folk realm. This is refreshing, beautiful music that stands
apart from anything like it in music today. While they are unopposed to flexing
