Dustin Koester

Dustin Koester is an American drummer/percussionist based in Los Angeles, California. He is currently touring and recording as a member of Eric Burdon & The Animals, backing the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Other artists he performs with include Emily Kinney, Johnzo West, and Davey Allen.

Born and raised in central Indiana, Dustin grew up in the arts-cultivating environment of the Midwest. Whether at the piano with his grandmother or in school band classes, he was surrounded by supportive family members and mentors. At age 10, he was gifted his first drum kit and continued to develop through formal music education, eventually attending Indiana University and playing in ensembles alongside some of the nation’s top young musicians. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2012, he has been an active member of the local music scene and toured the world with numerous artists.

With diverse sideman credits including the Jesus Christ Superstar National Tour (starring Ted Neeley), teen sensation Ryan Beatty, blues great Zac Harmon, Ricky Nelson Remembered (starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson), Dustin is a versatile player and avid fan of most all music.
