Lauren Stuart laisse aller son inspiration au fil des jours, des rencontres et des temps. Folk mélancolique, indie pop bucolique, envolées psychés, quoiqu'il arrive l'acoustique n'est jamais loin. Les ombres de Mark Oliver Everett, Neil Hannon, Stuart Murdoch ou Elliott Smith non plus. Seule compte la chanson, l'instant, l'écriture ; le voyage plus que la destination. Le mystère réside dans l'épure. Lauren Stuart nous raconte une histoire, son histoire - qui est aussi la notre - écrite à la première personne, artisan songwriter peaufinant ses mélodies sans relâche, dans un élan de sincérité rare et touchant.

Formation à géométrie variable construite autour de François Serin, Lauren Stuart a publié un premier album écrit, joué et enregistré en totale autarcie en 2007 ("the golden state of mind") puis un second vinyle plus sombre et introspectif en 2013 ("the book of love").

En 2015, la rencontre avec les popeux genevois de The Monkberry Monk Orchestra donne lieu à l'écriture d'un nouvel album, annoncé comme plus coloré et aérien dont la sortie est prévue le 04 novembre 2016 sur le Pop Club Records/Echo Orange.

Lauren Stuart draws inspiration from the incessant flow of time and from the people met along the way. Intimate folk songs, grassroots indie pop, psychedelic ascents: acoustic guitars are always in the background, and so are the shadows of Mark Oliver Everett, Neil Hannon, Stuart Murdoch and Elliott Smith. What matters is the song, the moment, the writing ; the journey rather than the destination. The mystery lies in the unfolding of the sketch. Lauren Stuart tells us a story, his story – which is also ours. His life is that of a craftsman-songwriter, relentlessly polishing up his melodies with moving and rare sincerity.

The artistic collective behind Lauren Stuart varies in scope and membership, but revolves around François Serin. Lauren published a first album written, played and recorded entirely DIY in 2007 (“The Golden State of Mind”) and a second, darker and more introspective work in 2013 (“The Book of Love”).

In 2015, upon meeting The Monkberry Moon Orchestra from Geneva, Lauren Stuart began composing a new album, described as having a broader palette of colors. Its release is planned for 2016 November the 4th with Le Pop Club Records/Echo Orange.
