About Nat Osborn

Nat Osborn “writes smart, punchy tunes that blend old-school Gershwin-era song craft with decidedly modern sensibilities” (Popdose). Largely known as the leader of the international touring act the Nat Osborn Band, he’s also a compelling and accomplished solo performer.

Osborn was born in and lives in New York City. His style is, like New York, an eclectic mix of influences. One can expect to hear a unique blend of old school soul, inventive jazz inflected piano playing, and tinges of funk, blues, and classical music all centered around smart, catchy pop songs and a powerful and captivating voice.

In March of 2020, as the global pandemic began, Osborn found himself stranded in Nova Scotia, taken in by friends on a small wintery island. With a slew of instruments at his disposal and a small, mobile recording set up, he got to work recording a song a week for three months, ultimately releasing the collection in June of 2021 as “The Quarry Island Sessions”.

Osborn also co-leads the indie-folk band Hawthorne with singer-songwriter Aimee Bayles. The band put out an album and single in 2021 and played across the North-East in support of it.

Nat has performed on television in a dozen countries and performed in Festivals across Europe and the US, including headlining the Trieste Jazz Festival in Italy and Bohemia Jazz Festival in Czechia. He plays keyboards in and music directs the soulful blues-rock band Sister Sparrow + the Dirty Birds. He's also an active and avid film scorer, having scored official TriBeCa selections in 2014, 2017, and 2019.
