Nikki Loy

"‘Fandabulous singist’! ...I have to say so myself because I don't have PR type person!"

Nikki Loy is originally from Devon. She taught herself to sing strolling the rolling hills... and since then has accumulated many years of experience as a singer working with numerous bands and being involved in all sorts of different musical projects (including a couple of years in Sydney!) but now she lives in Oxford where she is a solo artist. Nikki has been gigging regularly around Oxford and London for several years and during that time has had the pleasure of supporting and learning from artists such as Wallis Bird, Lauren Pritchard, Teitur, Kyla Brox, and Leigh Coleman. And as a special treat, once in a while, she pops back to Devon for a little gig at Mama Stone’s.

Nikki is fascinated by the craft of songwriting and loves to be challenged vocally, if you were ever to overhear her singing when she thinks she's alone you’d hear some pretty experimental stuff!

Nikki has been writing a lot of songs lately, some of which have just been released on her raw and emotional acoustic album ‘A Little Less’ which is available on iTunes along with her first EP ‘Now or Never’. She is now focussed on getting the third collection of songs together and ready for recording along with a very exciting music video project!! :0)

On the not so musical side Nikki is still a very vibrant creative person - An obsessive creative in fact. She loves all aspects of the Arts and creativity. Her family are equally creative and she was encouraged to pursue the arts and initially decided to study Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts. She has illustrated several children’s books, published by Make Believe Ideas, (available through all good internet book stores). She has always been torn between her love of painting and drawing and her passion for singing and songwriting. She tells us that in her later years she suspect the pull to paint will grow strong again but for now the music is winning and so Nikki is throwing her all into making my music career work for her.
