Booyaka is a funky legend, a non-stop party, a musical mantra, a way of life. Retro yet forward-looking, danceably funky but rockingly filthy dirty, Booyaka's individual groove has never been more vital. After more than a decade of gigging Booyaka remains Shropshire's premier funk band. A true inspiration for past and present generations of misspent youths, these funk-rock heroes have genuinely changed the musical landscape to create the funkiest county you've never heard of. After literally hundreds of gigs, a continental tour, support for the likes of Jah Wobble, Transglobal Underground and Ozric Tentacles, battle-of-the-bands victories, headline festival slots, and one botched record deal, Booyaka have returned after a three year hiatus, and are still filling venues with their loyal and frankly demented fans.
