About Troup
After transplanting to the States, British singer/songwriter/guitarist Alex Troup met producer and keyboard player Evan Beigel while browsing the vinyl bins at Los Angeles institution Amoeba Records. With a shared love of classic 70s rock, analog synths, and Brit pop, they formed Troup in 2012 and started recording. As heard on KCRW, KCSN, BBC Radio, etc., Troup’s debut album,Last Chance for Romance, highlights their “keen sense of melody, arena-rock urges and deft juggling of the melancholy and hopeful.” (Buzzbands LA) The band is back with a new EP, Mercury and Gold, which will be released in October 2016. Combining Troup’s searing lyrics and the band’s charged sound, Mercury and Gold is about to stamp an indelible mark on L.A.’s rock scene and beyond. Rock 'n' roll ain't dead.
