About Port Mone

The Guardian (UK): Port Mone are an instrumental trio who have forged their own voice from a mix of influences, including jazz, minimalism and ambient music. They are still developing in this new direction and are popular among music lovers from both the east and west...

The instrumental trio Port Mone was created in Minsk (Belarus) in 2006. The debut album “Dip” (2009) was noted by the musical critics and was called the best instrumental album of 2009 year in Belarus, the best foreign album of 2009 in Croatia. It was nominated for Artemy Troitsy Award in the categories “The best album” and “The music” of 2010 in Russia.

Music by Port Mone was used in lots of documentary and animation films. Besides, the trio provided live music score to silent movie “Khlib” (1930, UA). Tracks by Port Mone were included in compilations in Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Sweden, Scotland, USA.

Natural sincerity of the music of the trio fascinates and captivates widely different
people. The ability to perceive beauty and pain of the outworld, correlate with it, and understand that everyone is a part of an ongoing, like air or water, substance of life – these are the things that distinguish the audience of Port Mone. Music of the trio is addressed to good listeners of, for instance, Chopin, Moondog or Part.
Critics point out that Port Mone is a brand-new phenomenon that is difficult to fit into the stylistic forms as the music of the trio links classical music, noise, experimental and folk music. No words can describe the impact of this relatively simple music. It just has to be heard.
