About Chinese Army

Combining warm fifties and sixties sounds with a cold magnetic energy reminiscent of Suicide make for parisian duo Chinese Army’s intensely visual music - sort of beat-rock wrapped in experimental soundscapes. The band was formed in October 2010 in Los Angeles when Oan Kim and Benoit Perraudeau were then working on the soundtrack for an art installation at the Pyo Gallery Having lived several lives in classical composition, jazz and photography, Kim and Perraudeau are both former members of Film Noir, and their music retains hints to that cinematic genre. Supported since 2011 by the Balades Sonores collective, Chinese Army released "Runaways" their first EP on the Balades Sonores label in 2013, followed in 2014 by their second EP “Five Easy Pieces” distributed by Believe Digital. Warm fifties and sixties sounds, cold magnetic energy, beat-rock wrapped in experimental soundscapes
