About Chris Rose

Growing up in country NSW (Port Macquarie), Singer-songwriter Chris Rose was blessed with ample helpings of bush and beach from the beginning. Surrounded by natural beauty, he had no shortage of inspiration for writing great songs. Spending much of his youth with like-minded friends, guitar in hand, and his songwriting notepad at the ready, there was little doubt where his future would take him.

Throughout his teens, Chris got his first taste of live performances at school variety concerts and talent quests. He could not get enough of the stage, and his unique voice left local audiences wanting more, which spurred him on to chase a future in music. Chris wrote his first solo song ‘Nowhere Land’ sitting on the gusty Lighthouse Beach headland, near his childhood home, surrounded by crashing waves. This was an important moment for Rose and helped build further confidence in his creative and performance abilities.

In 2009 the TDP (Talent Development Program) based at The Sydney Entertainment Centre came calling, and Chris looked on it as an opportunity to hone his craft and to share his original music with new audiences and industry mentors. The program has previously shaped the early careers of many of Australia’s most well-known country artists such as Morgan Evans, Brad Cox, and Tom Jordan (Seaforth) to name a few.

Graduating from the TDP paved the way for many live performances. From large-scale events such as the Australia Day Spectacular at Circular Quay to regional support tours and festivals. Chris has since shared the stage with some of Aussie music’s most iconic artists including Icehouse, Thirsty Merc, Sheppard, The McClymonts, The Black Sorrows, and Daryl Braithwaite.

In 2012 Chris signed his very first major label record deal. It was a development deal that helped him further hone his craft and build a reputation, co-writing with some of the biggest names in music. It confirmed to Chris that being true to himself and sharing his passion for penning his own brand of melodic songs was the path he wanted to follow.

Rose is now set to embark on a new chapter in his career, which sees a return to his roots as an independent artist. Kicking off with the release of an emotionally charged, self-written single titled ‘Made For Loving You’. The track was written around the time of Chris’s marriage to his childhood sweetheart last year. A good old, country love song. The track, best described as a country, rock-ballad, poetically depicts the feeling of being effortlessly in the moment with the one you love. The track was produced by in-demand producer Stuart Stuart (Sheppard, Cailtin Shadbolt) and is sure to stick in your head.
