About Jersey Budd

Jersey Budd smashed the British music scene square in its face with his first album, Wonderlands. Acclaimed by Q Magazineas "rollicking bar room rock in thrall to Tom Pettyand Bruce Springsteen" Leicester born Jersey is one of a handful of new artists gathering fans with his own brand of rich, full hearted and honest music. Jersey is part of the new young breed of British songwriters ready to take the mantle from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Oasis and Coldplay. A friend and contemporary of many acclaimed British artists such as Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Miles Kane and The Rilfes, Budd has toured extensively across the UK and Europe headlining his own shows and supporting artists including Kasabian, The Enemy, James Morrison, John Martyn, Amy MacDonald and Turin Brakes. He has also played major Festivals including Glastonbury. Wonderlands, which included the singles She Came Back and Bright Soul receivedextensive airplay across national radio and was supported by a number of national TVappearances in the UK and Europe. The Sun said in an interview with Budd: “This boy is going to be as big as fellow Leicester lads Kasabian.” While British musical institution the NME said of his live show: "Jersey has the crowd eating out of his guitar hardened hands with his Oasis go honky tonk rollick rocker tunes." Over the last year Jersey has been writing his new EP, which has included co-writing with James Walsh from Starsailor, Rob Harvey from The Music and The Kooks, plus working with Producers including Stan Klybert, Brendan Lynch and Jamie Ellis. With a growing young fan base his incredible voice and song writing abilities are often compared to legends such as Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen but with a modern twist which is setting the music scene alight making Jersey the new young promise of British songwriters. The new EP entitled The Heartbreaker EP is coming out in mid-November on Smoky Carrot Records alongside a new UK, European and Latin American tour. Prior to this in October there will be a free download of a track from The Heartbreaker EP made available so look out for that! The new LP titled 'The Gathering Dust' is available now as download or CD format
