Carl Scogland is an Austin based musician known for his crafty approach in writing songs that reflect one’s everyday personal life. Fans who have come to appreciate the heartfelt and energetic songs from his debut album "Simplicity” will be getting a reboot with his upcoming album "Complexity,” which will be released on September 16th, 2016. Scogland, a Shreveport native, was inspired to pick up the guitar at the young age of 13 after watching a close friend’s father perform. A few years later, the two friends formed a band of their own, and together took on roles in three other bands as years passed. While attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Scogland teamed up with R&B, hip-hop, and rock group Melomania before launching a solo career and releasing his own debut album. Scogland’s music stems from personal relationships, struggles, and wishful thinking. He is hopeful that his music can reach all forms of appreciation and that it may touch people, whether because of hardship or feel-good moments.
