Manuel Volpe

Manuel Volpe (born in 1988) is a composer, producer and musician from Jesi, Italy. In 2013 he released his first album entitled “Gloom Lies Beside Me As I Turn My Face Towards The Light” (Goatman Records / A Buzz Supreme). Mainly inspired by folk music and the music of the South of Italy, the album was greeted with favor by the main Italian magazines (Il Mucchio, Blow Up, Alias Il Manifesto, XL Repubblica, SentireAscoltare) which have underlined the fine writing and arrangement skills of Volpe. In 2014 his live set was mentioned among the Best Live Revelations in the Italian promoters' seasonal poll (KeepOn.it). His music was showcased and broadcasted in several national radio around Europe (Fahrenheit Rai Radio 3 IT, Alza il Volume Rai Radio 3 IT, Deutschlandradio Kultur DE, FIP Radio France FR, Simon Harrison's Basic Radio Show UK, Monte Carlo Nights IT, Funkhaus Europa WDR DE, Brooklyn Radio NYC). In 2014 he founded the Rhabdomantic Orchestra, an open collective of jazz, world and rock musicians based in Turin. His second album "Albore" is released by the German label Agogo Records in 2016 and it represents a new step in Volpe's musical path. The album was written and produced by Manuel Volpe with the supervision of the afro-jazz-fusion expert Andrea Benini from Mop Mop.
