Elessar Thiessen

Elessar Thiessen grew up in a very musical family. His grandparents sang, his uncles played guitar and his dad in his younger days, played the cello. At a very young age, Elessar grew interest in his families musical skill and decided he wanted to try it out himself. He bought his first guitar when he was 8 years old from a local pawn shop for $50 bucks. After working to play like his favourite artists, Elessar started writing and singing some of his own tunes. When he was 11 years old, he was invited to audition for the K-tel Records “Mini Pop Kids” group. He took the invitation, and with his blonde shaggy hair, and hip hop style clothing, he made it into the group. Elessar joined a handful of bands in his teen years. From playing guitar and backing vocals is a pop rock band when he was 14, to lead vocalist of a progressive hardcore band “Method” when he was 18. He went on tour with Method across Canada, but after there last Cd Release tour, the band decided to part and move onto something different. Elessar decided to go back to his acoustic guitar, and start writing some new tunes. He quit his full time job installing windows and doors in May of 2012, and is now pursuing music full time. His heart is driven to perform and to create a uniquely honest sound that sparks interest into the ears of listeners. Casual in character and passionate in life, Elessar offers his own unique approach to the singer-songwriter of today.
