About Heaps n Heaps

Heaps n Heaps is not an anomaly in the fact that they play rock music or that their shows are sweaty dance parties mixed with chilled out moments of allure. They are special because it takes going to a show to truly understand the personalities behind the sound and depth of how these four people work together. They are special because their music brings out a deep-rooted happiness in others that is only made possible when those creating the art are constantly digging for truth when it feels the most uncertain. Heaps n Heaps is made up of three childhood friends (Zach Moon, John Pruitt, Dan Dowsett) who grew up together playing music next to the beauty of the mountains and the confusion of religious oppression in Salt Lake City, Utah. The fourth member is an Aussie songstress (Alisa Fedele) who sang opera, jazz, blues, soul and an eclectic mix of electronic music before co-forming the band with Zach. It took all four coming together to realize exactly what each individual had to offer and just how infinite the music making could be if everyone's back grounds and perspectives could be used equally. Heaps n Heaps’ sound is distinctive in part to the fact that both Zach Moon and Alisa Fedele take the duties of lead vocals. It is a mixing and mashing of female lead and male lead that is reminiscent of a tougher and more ranging version of The XX and a more polished and balanced version of The Kills. Because of the back and fourth vocal duties, the harmonies and blending melodies have become expansive and boundless in their songwriting. The band; however, is not simply made up of two vocals and a bunch of backing tracks. The diverse styles of bass lines and drum beats that have been influenced by a range of jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock, and down-tempo music, lends itself to the eclectic and original sound that Heaps n Heaps have created. The minimalistic guitar riffs blended with the airy, ethereal key lines makes for an ever changing sound that no one can really put a finger quite on. Heaps n Heaps can be translated to 'lots and lots' and so to can the band be understood through that translation. It is made up from a lot of influences, a lot of passion, a lot of diversity, a lot of grooves, a lot of melody, a lot of harmony and a lot of soul. It is made from a lot of hard work and dedication; a lot of pain and a lot of trial and error. Heaps n Heaps want to be on stage performing the songs they have written and love for people who carry the light hearted openness that leaves no one in this world excluded. Heaps n Heaps is for everyone, the whole lot of you who want to feel good and leave behind a world that is better than when you found it. Heaps n Heaps has just released their latest EP, New Heart, which is now available on Spotify and iTunes. New EP, New Heart, available now on Spotify and iTunes: http://sptfy.com/X6l goo.gl/NKBf4W
