About Enchantress

Enchantress is a hardrock/heavy metal band consisting of 5 young members who like to gig, drink & rock ‘n roll. They strive for keeping the 80’s alive, and with great succes according to many reviews and their fans. They may be based in a small country like Belgium, but they’re definetely ready to conquer the big world!
The band started in 2011 when schoolfriends and Tim Naessens and Frederic Kidey decided to start a band. Since their mutual interest in 80’s heavy metal music, it was their aim to start the band in that genre as well. Tim would take the role of lead guitarist and Frederic would do the rythm guitar. At a classreunion in a park Tim and Frederic met Elizabeth Gjurova, who also shared a passion for 80’s heavy metal. As luck would have it, Elizabeth was a drummer and accepted after several requests from Tim and Frederic to be part of the band. Later on in their local rock pub, they’ve met Jochen Mouton, who was singing along with the music. He joined quickly after Elizabeth as the singer. The search for a bassist came to an end when Sven Baelen, who was neighbours with Jochen, came along. In the first years of existence, many gigs were arranged (including Very ‘Eavy Festival in the Netherlands, RatRock, Blast From The Past Festival, Metal ‘Till Midnight and Toxic Waste Fest). Their performances were highly valued:
- "They are faithful to the old metal sound and this is being captured in their forty-five minutes set of this evening." (Truemetalfan.org, 2015)
- "Nice guitar solos, good vocals and a female drummer that hits ‘em hard, so who needs more?... The future will look very bright for these Belgian metal heads." (truemetalfan.org, 2015)
- "Altough they could be the sons and daughter of a large part of the crowd, they sure have the 80’s spirit because they have absorbed the NWOBHM" (rockhard.de, 2015)
- "We’ve seen five driven young wolves consisting of a superbly solo-guitarist and a very competent frontman, who can bring his enthusiasm directly into the crowd." (amped-up.be, 2016)
After about 20 gigs, Enchantress recorded and released their 4-track demo in 2015. In that same year Frederic dropped out of Enchantress. Jochen’s best friend, Vincent Audoore, made his entrance as the new guitarist of the band. The innovation in the band was that Vincent would do the combination of rythm guitar, solo’s and lead guitar together with Tim instead of just doing the rythm guitar. By doing so their music created a fuller sound. Enchantress is currently busy with giving shows and making their own first album.
Their music has a typical NWOBelgianHM sound with influences from Dokken, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Riot,… With their own touch on it, they make their songs unique and catchy. Enchantress doesn’t bring you back to the 80’s, but brings the 80’s back to you. This is what makes their work and performances really succesful.
