Bio Alex Blank Can techno music be melancholic and powerful at the same time? The sound of Alex Blank is a living proof. Born as Aleksandar Dimitrijevic in Pozarevac, Serba, Alex made his first contact with electronic sounds through the music of no one less than Depeche Mode. Maybe that's where his mix of passionate and melodic synth sequences in his recent productions derives from. Around the turn of the millenium, listening to music was no longer enough for Alex who meanwhile moved to Germany. At this time he became a welcome guest at many techno raves which inspired him a lot. Five years later, his excitement led to the organising of Alex' own event series 'Faster Party' which connected the whole underground techno scene around Dortmund from 2005 to 2011. Being an excited music lover and event organiser it was no surprise that Alex finally started Djing himself in summer 2012. He played his first set under his former alias Disha at the first episode of his brandnew party series Kommune 44. For the next year to come, MAD Club in Dortmund was his residency as a DJ and also a place where he gained experience in booking business. Alex also became head of the Blank Kollektiv Crew – a name which stands for high quality techno parties. Producing his own music was the next natural step in Alex' career which followed in 2014 with his first release, the Moments EP on Jeahmon Records. In 2015 the track 'Mind in Motion' became his contribution to the Eisenwaren compilation which gained lots of support by big names such as Sascha Dive, Marco Carola, Danny Tenaglia and many more. For 2017 we expect his upcoming Dischord EP on Authentisch Musik. In his versatile release Alex mixes catchy snares and progressive rhythms with deep synth stabs and dubby chords.
