2 Miles Back

Bringing you a mix of southern and classic rock and a bit of country, 2 Miles Back spins a twist of blues into everything they do. Emerging from a gospel group to fill a few private party requests, 2MB found themselves flooded with gig offers and quickly became a local favorite “dance” band. 2MB continues to give their audiences a groove to dance to and tune to sing! Front woman, Robin Bolin, provides a powerhouse vocal and a contagious energy to the stage. Most of the time you will find her on the dance floor as she sings your favorites. Not realizing she had a “voice” until much later in life, Robin has discovered her inner blues girl. You will agree… it’s obvious she was born with it. Bassist, Darrell Bolin, is self taught on a variety of instruments. Raised in a large musical family, someone was always singing and playing growing up. After years of traveling as a keyboardist, Darrell decided the bass was his spirit instrument. He’s a strong asset to 2MB keeping a solid groove throughout….on a variety of basses! Guitarist, Clancy Smith, started playing the upright bass at an early age. He soon became bored with it and realized the guitar could fulfill his creative need. At the age of 15, he was asked to play his first gig. With no drivers license he relied on his mom and the family station wagon to escort him to the weekend shows. Clancy bleeds the blues and has been the driving force behind that blues twist that 2MB has become known for. Drummist, Jim Perkins, AKA The Professor, knew he was born to be a musician by the time he was 6 years old. Jim majored in Music Management from UofE and has toured with a variety of bands and orchestras over the years. His love for playing is still just as strong and is one of the best percussionists in the tri-state area. With the majority of 2 Miles Back time being spent traveling back a few miles to bring you some oldies but goodies, the band feels fortunate to have been given some great opportunities to grace some blues festivals and stages. It’s apparent they pour their heart and soul into those blues gigs. 2 Miles Back is a member of the River Basin Blues Society. Rock with a twist of Blues!!
