About The Mirrors
There are at least four known bands named The Mirrors
Chronologically:
The first were a garage/punk/avant-garde band from Cleveland, OH in the early 70's, and shared a deserting member with local rivals of the Rocket From the Tombs. The Mirrors were founded by Jamie Klimek, a Cleveland-based songwriter and singer who had attended every one of the Velvet Underground's Cleveland shows. In 2001, long after their initial 1975 disbanding, Mirrors had a compilation of their 1970s recordings Hands in My Pockets, issued by the U.K.-based Overground Records label. Prompted by renewed interest in seminal midwest art punk, in 2004 Roir reissued a recording by Klimek's revamped late 80's Mirrors lineup that recorded between 1986 and 1988. That second Mirrors album was called Another Nail in the Coffin, and consisting of material originally issued briefly on the Resonance label in the Netherlands.
There's a psych rock / garage band from Texas with Greg Ashley of the The Gris Gris. They released a vinyl-only 2001 LP and then caught the interest of a friend at the local Sound Exchange record store. He released their second full-length, 2003's 13 Patient Flowers (Fleece Records).
Another group called The Mirrors is a rock quartet formed in 1995 in Milan, Italy. The founding member is Marco Ortensi. They play rock and psychedelic pop with influences from the Sixties and Seventies. The whole has been selected by Steve Zuckerman (2 Grammy Awards for the production of Les Paul & Friends with Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Sting) for the humanitarian project Hope: Love is the Answer. Between the artists you can find also Robert Fripp by King Crimson, Richie Havens & Joe Cerisano, Christopher Cross.
The fourth The Mirrors is a Brit style trock quartet from The Netherlands. The Mirrors were founded by Bart Damen (vocals/guitar) & Wouter de Wilde (drums) and were completed by Thom de Graaf (bass) & Koen Wieringa (lead guitar). Awaiting a first official release The Mirrors have been critically acclaimed for their beautiful songwriting and performing qualities.
