About Lepers and Crooks

‘A consistent stream of blistering live shows has earned Lepers & Crooks a reputation as one of the country’s must-see live bands, with their intelligent and emotive songs brought to life by dynamic, raucous performances’. Tone Deaf Hailing from Sydney’s inner west, Lepers & Crooks quickly garnered a reputation as one of the city’s must-see live acts thanks to their electrifying stage show. The fivesome took to touring their hard hitting brand of funk rock around Australia, tallying up an impressive 200+ shows across 2014/15 - a feat that led them to be dubbed one of Australia's hardest working bands. ‘Their performances, regularly filled with charisma and bravado, have earned them loyal fans and friends along the way’, Beat Magazine. Made up of Sam Baker (Vocals), Pat Reuter Town (Rhythm Guitar and Vocals), Alex Court (Lead Guitar), Garreth Clavijo (Bass) and Damien Jones (Drums), their big rock sound is heavily influenced by classic rock and psychedelic, but with a few mixed modern flavours that make Lepers & Crooks a rather different listen than most rock bands today. From Led Zeppelin to Pond with a bit of Rage Against The Machine thrown in, these guys have bitten down hard on a wholly unique sound’ – The Music Armed with their charismatic stage presence, easy-going nature and killer tunes, they’ve earned industry attention both in Australia and overseas. Signings to date include Ian Huffam from X-Ray Touring (UK/Europe), Scott McKenzie from Premier Artists (AUS) and Chris Murphy's Murphy Music Publishing. ‘It's been a meteoric couple of years since Lepers & Crooks first came together’ The Music Hot off the heels of singles ‘Let You Go’ and ‘Reflections’ Lepers & Crooks released their most intoxicating EP to date ‘The Heathen Circus’ on October 7th 2016, earning praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and Triple MMM. ‘Beginning all bareboned and raw, ready for seismic, space-clearing riffs, The Heathen Circus, the new EP from Sydney band Lepers & Crooks, doesn't fake intentions — it's here to rock’. Rolling Stone ‘Whatever it is, they have IT. When you see a band that works, no matter if it's the pub in Griffith or Wembley stadium. I've seen these guys, they have something special. I can't wait for Aussie music fans to experience it – Becko, Triple MMM The Heathen Circus was produced by Jeff Martin at his ‘River House’ studio, a secluded musical retreat owned by The Tea Party frontman set on 100 acres just outside of Byron Bay EP is now available to download via iTunes and stream on Spotify. ‘These 5 gifted young musicians have sincerely restored my faith in rock n roll. They live it, they breathe it, and they own it.’- Jeff Martin, The Tea Party ‘Australia’s Hardest working band’ Tone Deaf
