About Black

High school acquaintances, Rich Garcia and Greg Jimenez Jr., had a chance encounter in 2006 where they bonded over a love for heavy metal and playing music. This led to daily jam sessions and eventually a good base of original material, so they decided to start a band. Over the next few years, Garcia and Jimenez auditioned many different musicians to complete their band but they were all short lived. Then in late 2008, they met Brent Robinson, who joined the unnamed band as lead guitar, and the three immediately clicked. They decided to call themselves, BLACK, and began to launch their band into the local metal scene. After a few shows with original singer, David Jones, Dane Price joined the group as bassist. With the lineup of five solid musicians complete, they began to gig anywhere and everywhere that would allow them to wreak some havoc and destroy eardrums. Frequently seen performing at The Boardwalk, a well-known Sacramento concert venue, they were able to play with many fine local bands and major label artists such as: Lazarus A.D., Archaic, Bonded by Blood and Death Angel to name a few. In early 2012, the band's momentum was going strong when they experienced line up changes, losing Jones and Price. Despite the loss, a young producer/studio manager in Oakland named, Paul Glueckert had been admiring their music was interested in working with them. It was not long before BLACK sat down with Glueckert and began talks of collaborating on a full-length album. Glueckert helped BLACK establish the studio he managed, FM RECORDER Studios as their home base to record the album. After a few months of long hours and lots of hard work, BLACK had an full length record that was undeniable. Once done at FM RECORDERS, the band took the album to Michael Romanowski Mastering Studio in San Francisco. On July 10, 2013, BLACK's debut album, “United States of War” was finally complete and was published worldwide! The band continued to perform to support their first release, and were well received and the album was growing in popularity. Things began to slow down for the band in 2014, experiencing lineup changes and searching for new members. but all the while continuing to write and create new music and material. In 2015, the band came into contact with a talented vocalist and ex-semi pro skateboarder named Ryan Rodgers, and it wasn't long before he became the new vocalist and later on, lead guitarist. Now in 2016, BLACK had been lying in wait long enough, armed with an arsenal of new songs and material, they're ready to take the stage! In March 2016, the band became involved with a San Francisco company called, Stellium. They are an artist collective that also doubles as an avenue for artist to help end Sex/Human Trafficking, making charitable donations. The band hopes to begin recording their second album this summer, but mainly are ready to rock 2016 and the opportunities that lay ahead!!!! Metal band from Sacramento Ca - (USA)
