About SEEKERS OF THE TRUTH
Seekers Of The Truth are considered veterans in the French hardcore scene having been in existence now for more than 25 years.
Starting out in 1988 under the name Shit Happens,
they released two demos and a 7". They were then contacted in 1996 by the German record company, Lost and Found, (Ignite, Discipline, Tech9, Backfire, Uniform Choice, Youth of Today, White Devil…) to record an album (“Out of Ignorance”, 11 tracks, 1996) and a mcd (“Transcendence”, 5 tracks, 1997). At this point they changed their name to Seekers Of The Truth, paying homage to the Cro-mags as well as to represent the spirit of the band more accurately.
During their first decade of existence, Seekers Of The Truth toured the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Belgium and France playing with Agnostic Front, Comin’ Correct, 25 Ta Life, Snapcase, Shelter, Backfire, Racial Abuse, Stormcore, Out for Blood, Right for Life, Drowning, Primal Age…
After their appearance on the V/A cd with the French label Overcome Records, and a 7” with Tribal Zone, the band members decided to put things on pause for 7 years.
In 2005, Xav and Sylvain, the only two original remaining band members, came together andreleased the “Tinman” cd in 2006, and then also appeared on a V/A cd, both with Eternalis Records.
In 2009, with their new band line-up, JP on
guitar (former MST and Madhouse), Clem
on guitar, Franck on bass, Sylvain on drums, and Xav as voice, they recorded “2 Decades Shunning Masks” with Customcore/Disagree Records. They then continued to make a few shows with Sick Of It All, Biohazard, The Spudmonsters, Gang Green, Settle the Score, Out For The Count, Knuckledust, Reign Supreme, 50 Lions... and more recently with Strength
Approach and Vitamin X.
Seekers Of The Truth have always been delivering a positive message and encouraging a good state of mind, based on others’ respect and freedom. The lyrics are positive, putting the stress on consciousness, integrity and responsibility in our daily acts rather than simple critique of society. Their music, like their message, is sincere and full of energy, with no hesitation to mix old and modern hardcore influences.
The band has just recorded its new album,
that contains 12 tracks. This new cd includes some duets, namely one with Don Foose (The Spudmonsters, Foose…), and is a comeback to a more straightforward music, giving greater place to
efficiency rather than flourishes.
