Dade City Days

Nell’eco dei rave londinesi degli anni Novanta, nel boom della new wave newyorkese del nuovo millennio, nel pieno del revival shoegaze, con linee vocali in cui l’italiano stesso stenta a distinguersi: questo intendono essere i Dade City Days. Nati a Bologna nel 2013, condividono il palco con artisti come The Raveonettes, Modern English, The Soft Moon, Clan of Xymox, She Past Away, e ottengono ottimi riscontri da parte del pubblico, aggiudicandosi anche il primo posto al “The JamBO Live Contest“. In collaborazione con Luca Urbani (Soerba, Fluon), incidono per Darkitalia una cover rivisitata di “She Burned Me Down” dei Type O Negative. Nel 2015 curano le musiche per i contenuti speciali del film “La Linea Gialla – Bologna, 2 agosto“, prodotto da La Repubblica e Movie Movie in occasione del 35° anniversario della Strage di Bologna, ed entrano in studio con il produttore artistico Lorenzo Montanà (Tying Tiffany, Simona Gretchen) per la realizzazione del primo disco, “VHS“, uscito a febbraio 2016 per l’etichetta svizzera Swiss Dark Nights. Nel dicembre 2016, in seguito al successo della prima metà del tour, i Dade City Days rilasciano una versione live di “VHS”, in edizione limitata e numerata, con l’aggiunta di un inedito che vede la partecipazione di Marcello Michelotti dei Neon. In the echo of late Nineties London rave culture, and in the midst of the New York based new wave and the shoegaze revival, singing in an Italian which even a native would find hard to decipher: this is the space where Dade City Days want to belong. Formed in Bologna, Italy, in 2013, Dade City Days shared the stage with artists like The Raveonettes, Modern English, The Soft Moon, Clan of Xymox, She Past Away. The band gained a very favourable reception from the audience and qualified first at the The JamBO Live Contest. Working with Luca Urbani (Soerba, Fluon), they also recorded an original cover of Type O Negative‘s “She Burned Me Down” for a tribute compilation released by Darkitalia. In 2015, Dade City Days composed the music for the special features for the movie “La Linea Gialla – Bologna, 2 agosto“, produced by national newspaper La Repubblica and Movie Movie, during the 35th anniversary of the Bologna massacre. At the same time, the band entered the studio with artistic producer Lorenzo Montanà (Tying Tiffany, Simona Gretchen) to produce their first LP, “VHS“, released on Swiss Dark Nights in February 2016. In December 2016, after a very successful first half of the tour, Dade City Days released a live version of “VHS”, in limited and numbered edition, including a new song featuring Marcello Michelotti from Neon. a land where all things are perfect and poisonous
