About L D R U

L D R U is a Music Producer from Sydney Australia.

The L D R U that fans know and love first emerged when Drew uploaded a breezy, trap- inflected tune titled 'The Tropics' to his SoundCloud. ‘The Tropics’ fused his pop sensibility with the razor-sharp electronic production skills he’d taught himself while recovering from an on-the-job accident as a builder.

'The Tropics' lit the fuse on an incredible run. Drew’s breakthrough hit, ‘Keeping Score’ (featuring Paige IV), went Triple Platinum as the highest-selling Australian single of 2016, scored three ARIA nominations, hit #22 on triple j’s Hottest 100 and has clocked up 29 million Spotify streams to date. Following the Platinum-selling success of ‘To Be Free’ and ‘Next To You’ (featuring Savoi), L D R U was handpicked to support The Chainsmokers on their Australian stadium tour and blew up in the US, supporting NGHTMRE & Slander on the road and playing at the likes of HARD LA, Splash House and Electric Forest. He’s also ticked off every major festival at home, including Stereosonic, Field Day, Splendour In The Grass, Listen Out, Falls Festival and Future Music Festival.

Starting a bold new chapter, L D R U kicked off 2022 with four beat-driven "warm-up" tracks and an official remix of Major Lazer's "Be Together" ft. Wild Belle, which clocked over 150k streams in its first weekend alone. The "warm-up" tracks were leaked out over eight weeks which Drew Carmody says "pays homage to the OG fans who were there from the start.”

‘The Excuse’ followed as L DR U’s official single. It cements L D R U’s talent for drawing the best out of one-of-a-kind vocalists. Building from jangly indie-pop to a propulsive, psychedelic swirl of electronics, 'The Excuse' showcases the evolution of Drew’s artistry since his earlier releases.
