Lost Continent

A Lost Continent zenekar megalapításának ötlete 2007. tavaszán született. Az eredeti felállás „Noon” néven futott. 2007 őszétől a Noon elkezdett próbálni, eleinte feldolgozásokkal, olyan együttesek dalaival, mint a Drowning Pool, Deftones, Static-x, és Ill Nino, de 2-3 hónap zenélés után félretették a zenekar beindításának koncepcióját. 2011-ben a két alapító tag elkezdett dalokat írni, így ez év telén elkezdtek embereket keresni, hogy ismét megpróbálkozzanak a zenekar alapítással. 2012. január 5.-ére minden hangszeres poszton állt valaki, név szerint: Markó Tamás – gitár Rinkács Péter – gitár Madaras János Alexander – cselló Tóth Bálint – dob Bozó Dániel – egyéb ütősök Várkonyi Gábor - basszusgitár Ez a dátum jelzi az első majdnem teljes zenekar próbáját, és egyben az immár új, „Lost Continent” néven futó zenekar megalakulását. 2012 első felében a zenekar aktív zeneszerzésbe kezdett, jelentős eredményekkel, majd az év augusztusában megtalálta énekesét Bokodi Bálint személyében. 2012 és 2016 között a zenekar számos tagcserén és ennek kapcsán stílusváláson ment keresztül, mire megszületett a jelenlegi formáció. A csapat zenéjét és megjelenését eleinte különböző konspirációs elméletek ihlették, így műfajilag először a „Symphonic Tribal”, majd később a „ConTheo metál” kifejezéssel definiálták magukat. Különleges elem a műfajban a cselló, részben ez adja a dalok sajátos atmoszféráját. Végül viszont az egyszerű "Modern Metál" műfaj megnevezésnél maradtak. A Lost Continent csellóval és szimfonikus hangzásokkal tarkított modern metált játszó zenekar friss erőt képvisel a metál műfajba, bár a tagok már sokéves zenei tapasztalattal rendelkeznek. A zenekar először élőben 2013 júliusában mutatkozott be a Tattoo The Sun Fesztivál koncertsorozat keretei közt a Dürer Kertben. Azóta folyamatosan koncerteznek, főként Budapesten, de megfordultak már vidéki klubokban is nem egyszer. Részt vettek a Talentométer és a Wacken Metal Battle Hungary tehetségkutatókon. Mindkét versenyen dicsérő szavakat kaptak a zsűritől és előkelő helyezést értek el. Utóbbin, az első 5 helyezett között végzett. A Lost Continent első albuma „A Divine Proportion” címmel 2014 július 7-én jelent meg. Ezt az év egyik legizgalmasabb magyar metal kiadványának titulálták. A zenekar első lemezét 2 kategóriában is jelölték a Hang-súlyon (Hungarian Metal Awards). Ez a bemutatkozó lemez a Supersize Recordings-ban került rögzítésre Brucker Bence irányításával. A lemezborítót Rinkács Péter (a zenekar egyik gitárosa) készítette, amely komoly elismerést aratott a magyar grafikusok szakmai blogján. A zenekar második albumához már folyik a munka, 3 új szám már be is lett mutatva és 2016. március 18-án jelenik meg legújabb számuk a Rusty Casket, az ehhez készült első videó klip premierjével egy időben. A zenekar jelenlegi tagjai: Bokodi Bálint - ének Madaras János Alexander – cselló Rinkács Péter - gitár Markó Tamás - gitár Győri Ádám - dob Luczó Roland – basszusgitár A Lost Continent jövőbeli tervei között szerepel egy 2016 őszére tervezett belföldi turné, az év folyamán új dalok publikálása, és a második album bemutatása. ---------------------------------------------------------- The band “Lost Continent” was based on the idea of Péter Rinkács and Tamás Markó in spring 2007. The original line-up operated under the name “Noon”. They started rehearsing in autumn 2007, initially by covering songs of such bands as Drowning Pool, The Deftones, Static-X and Il Nino, but after 2-3 months they put aside the concept of starting the band for a while. In 2011 the two founding members started writing their own songs, so at the beginning of the year they also began recruiting musicians to give founding the band another try. By 5 January 2012 the band had members on all posts, with the following line-up: Tamás Markó – guitars Péter Rinkács – guitars János Alexander Madaras – cello Bálint Tóth – drums Dániel Bozó – percussion Gábor Várkonyi - bass This date stands for the first rehearsal and also the formation of the almost complete new band, under the name “Lost Continent”. They spent the first half of 2012 actively composing music with remarkable achievements, and in August they found their vocalist, Bálint Bokodi. Between 2012 and 2015 the band had experienced several changes in their line-up, and therefore, in their style and image by the time the present formation was born. The band’s initial music and appearance was inspired by various conspiracy theories, so their genre was first defined as “Symphonic Tribal”, then “ConTheo Metal”. The cello is a special feature in the genre and is partly responsible for the unique atmosphere of the songs. Lost Continent, playing modern metal peppered with cello and symphonic melodies, represents fresh power in the metal music scene, although the members have had many years of musical experience. The band performed its first live gig in July 2013 at the “Tattoo The Sun Festival” concert series in Dürer Kert (Dürer Garden). They have been playing concerts continuously ever since, mainly in Budapest, but they have also hit the stage in several clubs in other towns within the country. The band has also applied for and played at different talent shows, such as Talentometer and Wacken Metal Battle Hungary. At both competitions they were highly appreciated and praised by the jury, and got prestigious rankings as well. In the latter, they were among the top five. Lost Continent’s first album, “A Divine Proportion” was released on 7 July 2014. It was described by critics as one of the most exciting issues in the Hungarian metal scene. The album was nominated in two categories at “Hang-súly” (renowned Hungarian Metal Awards). This debut album was recorded at Supersize Recordings, with the management of Bence Bruckner. The album cover was designed and implemented by Péter Rinkács, one of the band’s guitarists, and it has also gained significant recognition at the professional blog of Hungarian Graphic Designers. Works on the band’s second album have been going on, as they have already introduced three new songs since their last album, and on 18 March 2016 their very first video clip was released for the new song “Rusty Casket”.
