About Ramajay Intercoastal

Ramajay Intercoastal is the musical collaboration between Steel Drummer Quincy Yeates and Guitarist Tall Paul, featuring Michael Robertson (Percussion), Klee Liles (Bass) and Alonzo Lewis (Drums). After being introduced to each other during the creation of the band St. Somewhere, Paul and Quincy developed a musical and personal friendship that bore fruit with a number of songs that quickly became St. Somewhere favorites. With both musicians eager for something new and exciting they have developed Ramajay Intercoastal, a blending of two unlikely but similar worlds. Their Island/Rock approach contains infectious grooves and catchy melodies balanced by intriguing lyrics. Originally hailing from Cleveland Ohio, ‘Tall’ Paul Bobal spent his formative years growing up in Virginia Beach VA. He started his musical career playing keyboards in a few garage bands around town always making time for a skip over to Bimini, Bahamas a few times a year in order to go scuba diving. This self taught inspired guitarist came into his own after his stint at Appalachian State University in North Carolina where he frequented the coffee house circuit and played in the band ‘Stoney Creek’, opening for such acts like The Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oats and Jimmy Buffett. After moving to Nashville, he was able to hone his writing and playing skills, surrounded by some of the best musicians in the country, quickly establishing himself as a sought after powerhouse solo performer. Quincy Yeates’ story begins on the island of Tobago where being thrust into music at the age of 10, began playing Clarinet and Oboe for the Tobago Youth Orchestra, Steel Drums, Piano and Guitar. After graduating high school, he took the next year developing a special liking for the steel drums playing in a Steel Band that would frequent the island’s beach hotels playing for the tourists. Not long after entering the University of Tennessee, Quincy co-founded the band St. Somewhere who became a nationally touring band for 8 years, eventually playing with Jimmy Buffett and opening for Steppenwolf and George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars. www.ramajayintercoastal.com/epk Booking & Press Contact: Rebecca Stilwell Rebecca.Ramajay@gmail.com (720) 336-0508
