About Arne Benoni

ARNE BENONI - One of Norway’s most popular and traveled country music singers Arne Benoni has and continues to entertain his fans around the world. He has recorded and performed in Nashville, TN. including an appearance on the world famous Grand Ole Opry. Arne has recorded 17 albums, most of them recorded in Nashville. His recordings have found chart success in Billboard and Cash Box and in international charts worldwide. A duet with Nashville singer Lori Brooks titled “Even If I Do” stayed on international playlists for two years in 2000 and 2001 and a duet he did with late country star Dottie West found similar success. It was West’s final recording before her untimely death in a car accident. Arne’s far-reaching success has resulted in appearances in numerous international markets. He has appeared three times at London's prestigious Wembley Festival; two appearances as a part of the Opry Spectacular concerts at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway; and three appearances at the Norsk Høst Fest, the largest Scandinavian Festival in the world held in Minot, North Dakota. Arne has also been a hit on cruise ships among them a tour of the Caribbean aboard the SS "Norway". The concert was taped and shown by Norwegian Broadcasting nationwide several times. Arne was the only country act featured on the cruise. In addition to performing on the Grand Ole Opry, Arne has appeared with Ralph Emery on his nationally televised program Nashville Now on The Nashville Network. He has been a featured guest on the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree several times. Over the past years Arne has added Scotland, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark to his touring schedule. One newspaper wrote the headline that describes the love of fans for Arne -- “Arne Benoni melted a lot of hearts during his Denmark Tour.” In 2007 Arne Benoni completed recording a new 12-song album in Nashville and released the CD that is aptly titled, “I’m Coming Home” in December 2007 on Universal Music. According to Benoni, this album will not only offer country music fans a great collection of songs, but will give them a fresh, new sound and approach to his music. “It all starts with the song and I am proud to have written or co-written six of the songs,” Benoni states. “What may surprise a lot of people is we have songs on this album written by Ozzy Osbourne and “Aha's” Magne Furuholmen; and if that’s not enough to get your attention I have three duets with country superstar and friend Lynn Anderson. Although it may seem like a strange brew, I hopes fan will be as excited about the album as I am and will find the recipe we put together for this project to be “tasty.” “The music was recorded with a more contemporary country sound than people have heard from me in the past,” Benoni continues. “And the recordings were done at two of Nashville's best recording studios with some of the top session musicians in Music City. Of course one of the most special parts of the CD are Benoni’s duets with Lynn Anderson who is best known for her international hit, “Rose Garden.” Benoni, along with millions of others, has been a big fan of Anderson’s and when a mutual friend arranged for a meeting between the two there was instant chemistry that evolved into a friendship and, as some may call it – “magic in the studio.” Anderson and Benoni recorded versions of the big hit “Slow Hand” originally recorded by The Pointer Sisters and later by Conway Twitty; “Hello” originally recorded by Lionel Richie; and a previously unreleased song titled, “Even If It Takes Forever.” The album release in Norway brought Lynn Anderson to that country for the first time in her career and included several media appearances in January and February of 2008, including an appearance on TV2 where she and Benoni presented the prestigious "Hit of the Year" award that was broadcast live from the Oslo Spectrum. The two also did a successful tour in Norway during the summer of 2008, and set a new record at the Country Festival at Breim, playing for 13000 people. In March 2010 Arne released a duet album with Noerwegian singer Jenny, and acchived a gold record. The two made several TV appearances and concerts. Now as that collaboration is history, Arne and his management are "on the ball", making interesting new plans for the year to come. Artist Page for Arne Benoni
