About Time Atlas

There’s no map to follow, but we’re in charge of the directions we take. We’ve only got so much time to walk on those paths before we’re not around to walk them anymore, because life is short; we have to make the best of our time while we have it.

That is the mindset Time Atlas wants to embody as they venture into uncharted waters. “We want to make a difference”, says frontman Grayson DeWolfe, “and I feel like if we can touch even one person with our music, then we’re succeeding in what we’re setting out to do”. An emerging Minneapolis pop/rock band, the quintet formed when DeWolfe was pursuing a solo career with the group as his live band. Gaining a strong following and an unusual degree of support from six months of playing shows within the Twin Cities, the group decided to don the name Time Atlas after opening for QuietDrive at a packed Varsity Theatre in December.

Spending the following months writing and recording their debut record, the band returned in June, surprising fans with their debut music video for the upbeat anthem “Falling”. The video quickly gained over 1,000 views in less than 24 hours, immediately creating a buzz within Minnesota. The group released their 5 track debut EP, “Clarity”, on June 30th, combining elements of pop, alternative, rock, and acoustic music into a collection of catchy songs. “Our goal was to be as diverse as possible while maintaining a unique sound,” explains guitarist Josh Bening. “We wanted to create an album that would touch as many people as possible”.

Time Atlas headlined their EP release show in Minneapolis on July 11th. Playing to a crowd of 250 fans, the successful release skyrocketed the band to scoring a spot on the “It’s So Much Friendlier With” Tour alongside The Millenium, Marina City, and An Honest Year. “We got to play in New York not even a month after we put out our record” explains DeWolfe. “Not a lot of bands get that opportunity, and we’re really thankful for that.” The band travelled to Chicago, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Boston, Des Moines, and more to hundreds of fans. “We were just so happy to be able to get out and show our music to people from all over the country,” says bassist Kristoff Druva. “Nothing feels better than making new fans in new places.” After returning home and headlining several shows across the cities, Time Atlas opened up for Plain White T's at Mill City Nights in November, and are headlining their first annual holiday event at Mill City Nights at the end of December.

Time Atlas has already begun writing material to be released in spring 2016 with plans to tour in the summer.
