The name "HESTER" means "Evening Star" in twenty-seven different languages so the name was bound to have a profound influence on Singer, Songwriter and Musician Larry Hester. Raised in rural South Alabama on the Mississippi line, Hester began his musical journey singing in the North Oak Grove Church near his birthplace of Waynesboro, Mississippi. His mother made him take piano lessons from age six until he was ten. He hated every minute of it but is thankful today for her persistence. Somewhere in the middle of all those lessons he became interested in playing the guitar so he taught himself to play Rock and Roll. He started writing songs at the age of ten and by the age fourteen he started playing in garage bands and performing at local events. At nineteen Hester hit the road touring and moved to Los Angeles, California.

In LA Hester has written for and appeared in both film and television.The song "Burning" with its huge fan base can be heard in the skateboarding cult film "Thrashin" where it first appeared in a motion picture sound track. This song also made the soundtrack of the Touchstone Pictures film, "Can't Buy Me Love" starring Patrick Dempsey more recently known for his work in "Grey's Anatomy". The Hester penned song "Love on the Radio" also made its first motion picture debut in that same movie. Another major film,"Gross Anatomy" featured both these songs as well.

The charismatic performances and heart wrenching ballads, confirms Hester as a true music heartsman. The live performances are powerful with catchy melodies backed by pure rock, pop and blues foundations. After the destruction South Mississippi suffered due to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Hester felt that he had abandoned his roots and lost his way musically. He decided to return to Mississippi only a couple of years later and write new material based on his lifetime experiences of love and loss. He reunited with his longtime friend and drummer Tommy Noland in Biloxi, Mississippi in 2008 to form the Indie Rock Band "HESTER" along with Chris Loepke on Lead Guitar and Rick Gamard on Bass.

The group is currently in the studio recording their third album due out in early 2016. They are currently on tour is support of their current release "Right As Rain".
