Flying Steps

The Flying Steps were founded in 1993 by Vartan Bassil and Kadir "Amigo" Memis in Berlin. They have focused on urban dance styles and won several world championships such as the Battle Of The Year and the Red Bull Beat Battle. For several years now they also include other popular urban dance styles like hip hop and house into their perfomances. Moreover they work project-based with artists from different areas such as modern and contemporary dance, tricking and freerunning, etc. The Flying Steps are considered and respected as one of the most successful urban dance crews worldwide.

The cast has changed over the years, new members were added and the Flying Steps worked with various dancers from all over the world. An international network of 30 world-class urban dance athletes was formed - the Flying Steps Company.

Throughout their career the Flying Steps accumulated much experience in the culture, product and entertainment industry. Here the focus is on high-profile show concepts which they performed already on countless international events.

Promotion of young talents and dance education is the center of their work in the Flying Steps Academy, which they established in 2007. During spring 2013, just in time to their 20th anniversary, the Flying Steps got started with their new Academy in the heart of Berlin. The next generation of urban dance has the opportunity to learn from the best docents of the scene on 700 m2.

In the spring of 2010 the launch of the sensational success of Red Bull Flying Bach started. The first in-house and full-length production from Flying Steps Entertainment was awarded in the same year with the ECHO Klassik. To sold-out halls the Flying Steps showed in innovative ways how to combine as well breakdance and classical music together. After the tour in Germany and Europe 2011 now the Red Bull Flying Bach World Tour 2012 - 2015 takes place.

In March 2014 the Flying Steps celebrated the premiere of their new production Red Bull Flying Illusion at the Tempodrom in Berlin. The show tours in Germany throughout the year. They're ready to conquer the World!

Die Flying Steps wurden 1993 von Vartan Bassil und Kadir "Amigo" Memis in Berlin gegründet. Sie haben sich auf die urbanen Tanzstile B-Boying (Breakdance), Popping und Locking spezialisiert und gewannen mehrere Weltmeisterschaften, wie das Battle Of The Year und das Red Bull Beat Battle. Seit einigen Jahren binden sie neben anderen populären Urban Dance Styles wie Hip Hop und House auch projektbasiert Künstler aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen, wie beispielsweise Modern und Contemporary Dance, Tricking und Freerunning, etc. in ihre Performances ein. Die Flying Steps werden als eine der erfolgreichsten Urban Dance Crews weltweit angesehen und respektiert.

Die Besetzung hat sich im Laufe der Jahre immer wieder geändert, es kamen neue Mitglieder hinzu und es wurde mit verschiedenen Tänzern aus der ganzen Welt zusammengearbeitet, sodass sich ein internationales Netzwerk aus 30 weltklasse Urban Dance Athleten gebildet hat - die Flying Steps Company.

Im Laufe ihrer Karriere sammelten die Flying Steps viel Erfahrung in der Kultur, Produkt und Entertainment Industrie. Hierbei liegt ihr Hauptaugenmerk auf hochkarätigen Show Konzepten, welche sie bereits auf unzähligen, internationalen Veranstaltungen performten.

Die Nachwuchsförderung und Ausbildung von Tänzern steht im Zentrum ihrer Arbeit in der Flying Steps Academy, die sie 2007 eröffneten. Pünktlich zu ihrem 20-jährigen Jubiläum starteten die Flying Steps im Frühjahr 2013 mit ihrer neuen Academy im Herzen von Berlin durch. Die nächste Generation des Urban Dance hat auf 700 m2 die Chance von den besten Dozenten der Szene zu lernen.

Im Frühjahr 2010 fiel der Startschuss für den sensationellen Erfolg von Red Bull Flying Bach. Die erste hauseigene, abendfüllende Produktion von Flying Steps Entertainment wurde im selben Jahr mit dem ECHO Klassik ausgezeichnet. Vor ausverkauften Hallen zeigten die Flying Steps auf innovativste Art und Weise wie gut Breakdance und klassische Musik miteinander zu vereinen sind. Nach der Deutschland- und Europatournee 2011 findet nun die Red Bull Flying Bach Welttournee 2012 - 2015 statt.

Im März 2014 feierten die Flying Steps zudem die Premiere ihrer neuen Produktion Red Bull Flying Illusion im Berliner Tempodrom. Die Show ist aktuell auf Deutschlandtournee. They´re ready to conquer the World!

In Zukunft ist eines sicher: Die Produktionen von Flying Steps Entertainment werden weltweit für Furore sorgen. Kunst und Entertainment auf höchstem Level sind hierbei garantiert.
