Voidcrew

Wir schreiben das Jahr 2010. Der Ort des Geschehens: Ein einsam in der Natur stehendes, recht runtergekommenes und nur spärlich beleuchtetes Haus in der Nähe von Mössingen im Kreis Tübingen. Dumpfe und dröhnende Geräusche ertönen aus dem Erdgeschoss. Was ist da los? Braucht jemand Hilfe? Nur mit viel Muskelkraft lässt sich die Tür des düsteren Gebäudes öffnen, sofort strömt einem kalte und muffige Luft entgegen. Mann, ist das kalt hier. Hat hier einer vergessen, die Heizung aufzudrehen, ist das Haus eigentlich bewohnt? Und überhaupt: Was sind das für Geräusche? Fragen über Fragen, doch schon steht man vor der nächsten Tür. Mit einem Knarren schwingt sie auf, die Luft ist noch kälter. Zwei Gestalten sind schemenhaft im Raum dahinter zu erkennen. Sofort gehen einem weitere Fragen durch den Kopf: Müssen die hier eine Strafe („Punishment“) absitzen? Sind die gar freiwillig hier? Und wenn ja, wie „Damaged“ muss man eigentlich sein, unter diesen Bedingungen sich hier aufzuhalten? Oder ist das alles nur ein Albtraum, aus dem man möglichst schnell aufwachen sollte („Wake up“)? Der eine, so wissen wir heute, war Frank (Ex-Different Voices) aus Ofterdingen mit seiner Gitarre, der andere, der Schlagzeuger Gerd (Go Johnny Go), ebenfalls aus Ofterdingen. Beide hatten einfach mal Bock, zusammen richtige gute harte Musik zu machen und hatten eine Menge musikalischer Ideen in ihren Köpfchen („In my Head“). Nach den ersten gemeinsamen Gehversuchen stieß der Dritte im Bunde, Bassist Marc (Ex-Slow Ride) aus Dußlingen, zur Band – die Geschichte von VOIDCREW nahm ihren Lauf. Doch irgendwas fehlte. Ach ja, der Gesang. Anfang 2011 fanden die drei mit Hendrik (Ex-Squelch, Ex-Slow Ride) aus Reutlingen den passenden Sänger – oder besser gesagt: den passenden Schreihals. Ende 2012 komplettierte Gitarrist Benjamin aus Reutlingen die Band. Gerd verließ im November 2015 die Combo aus persönlichen Gründen. Seitdem sitzt Matze aus Unterjesingen an den Drums.

How it all began

We go back to the year 2010 (when VOIDCREW was born). Place of events: a solitary house in a desolate state with sparse lights out in the boondocks near Mössingen in the district of Tübingen, southern Germany. Muffled and booming sounds are coming from the ground floor. What's going on there? Does someone need help? It takes some muscle to open the door of that gloomy house , and then musty and cold air hits you right away. Damn, but it's cold here. Who forgot to switch the heating on, does anyone even live here? And anyway, what's that noise? Question upon question, and suddenly you find yourself in front of the next door. As the door creaks open, even colder air hits you. Only the shadowy outlines of two figures are visible, and you ask yourself immediately: "Are they here for "PUNISHMENT"? They can't possibly be here voluntarily, right? But if they are, how "DAMAGED" would one have to be to suffer these conditions. Or is it all just a nightmare, you'd want to "WAKE UP" from as fast as possible? One of them, we know today, was Frank (Ex-Different Voices) with his guitar, the other one was the drummer Gerd (Go Johnny Go). Both were not damaged, but simply in the mood for real good hard music and were brimming with tons of good musical ideas "IN THEIR HEADS". After their first steps as a band a third member joined them, the bass player Marc (Ex-Slow Ride) and the story of VOIDCREW began. But something was missing, right, the vocals. Early in 2011 the three guys found a suitable singer - or shall we say the matching squaller, in Hendrik (Ex-Squelch, Ex-Slow Ride). Since the end of 2012 VOIDCREW is complete with guitarist Benjamin Speisser. In November 2015 Gerd leaves the band. Since then Matze is the new drummer of VOIDCREW.
