MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

Influenced by the life that passes them by, the constant change in their adolescent lives and the music that shaped their combined passion; More Than Meets The Eye is a hardworking melodic hardcore band. Formed in 2008 and playing their first ‘try-out’-show for over 150 attendees these five friends quickly gained the reputation of being a must-see live-band to experience the power they radiate, the effort they put into their music and the sound they try to share with the world. Mainly focusing on a clean and heavy ‘hardcore’ sound, they presume to add new elements taken from a wide range of influences, More Than Meets The Eye stands for strong and deep lyrics sung with a powerful voice on top of heartfelt melodies and catchy rhythmic parts added up with pumping bass lines following the leads of tight and heavy drumming. Combining the ‘straight-forward’ hardcore of Terror with the bitterness of Betrayal, the brutality of American Me and the passion of The Ghost Inside is what helped them create a wide and ever growing fan base. While the future is still wide open, More Than Meets The Eye have had the opportunity to play with some well-known national and international bands in the past, including, Dog Eat Dog (USA) Texas In July (USA), Heart Of A Coward (UK), CDC (USA), While She Sleeps (UK), Novel Of Sin (IT), As Enemies Arise (NL) and Poison My Blood. They’ve recorded a 5-song EP (This Ship Isn’t Built To Sink); Played a live-set on Urgent.FM; Been featured in UP Magazine (NL, “upcoming” section); Won a couple of contests and played numerous live shows across their country.
