In an intimate setting @ De Ruimte The LABtrio gave a great concert. I loved the acoustic setting. They mainly played 'songs' from their latest album 'Nature City' - it was a kind of a cd presentation.Double bass player Anneleen Boehme was the only one who played on her own instrument. Pianist Bram de Looze played the upright and slightly out of tune piano; drummer Lander Gyselinck played on a drumset that was available at De Ruimte. But Bram, nor Lander seemed to be restricted in their playing.Among the original tunes they played, were two arranged Bach compositions (from the Goldberg Variations and the Well-tempered Clavier), which were really wonderful.Sadly the gig only lasted some 45 minutes, But it really was worth attending. I'm looking forward to their TV appearance in Vrije Geluiden!

About LABtrio

LABtrio are three unique musicians with strong personalities, endowed with a fresh and adventurous approach to music. The trio’s acoustic universe conceals an urban jazz that flirts with electronic, underground and hip-hop cultures. Their music is refreshing and constantly evolving. Besides their own compositions, they alternate jazz standards & other genres with a personal twist.
