Ryan Kennedy

Ryan Kennedy is a Christian songwriter, electronic R&B/pop artist, speaker and music producer. Growing up in Houston —the third largest theatre district in the U.S.—afforded Ryan the opportunity to be involved in musical theatre from an early age. By the time he was a teenager, he was musically directing and conducting performances; and by 17, he achieved young success, writing an full-scale Broadway musical, along with an accompanying 22-song score. Staging the work at Houston’s renown Theatre Under the Stars, attracted the attention of multiple New York producers. The musical was chosen from a group of over 500 projects to be awarded a large grant funding from the National Alliance for Musical Theatre. The project began to move towards a promising future as plans of moving the production to New York came about in creative meetings with producers, investors, and directors. As the show began taking steps towards its off-Broadway run, the project came to an abrupt halt when Ryan experienced a profound and life-altering encounter with Christ. Leaving everything behind and wanting nothing but Jesus, Ryan left his musical and career behind to recklessly follow the Holy Spirit and never looked back. He then began to use his music ability to write and produce music that spoke of His faith and the life-changing power of the gospel.

After the release of his first project “Another Moment” produced and recorded by two-time Grammy Nom, Sarah Kelly and Swedish producer Jonas Ekman (Sweekman), Ryan quickly became a notable rising artist touring internationally and sharing platforms with acts such as MercyMe, David Crowder, Danny Gokey, Christy Nockels, Jonathan Thulin, Urban Rescue and many others.

In 2016, Ryan attended the GMA Immerse Conference and received the award for Songwriter of the Year. Not soon after, He joined a community of fellow worship leaders and artists known as People & Songs who have since become one of the staple worship song resources of our decade. During his time as a member of the collective, Ryan penned songs such as Deeper, Deeper Still, Land Of The Living (I Will See The Lord), Go To Live with God, Simple, So Close (More & More), Favorite, Echo (In Jesus Name), Master (All To You), and many others. In 2018, at The Emerging Sound, a summer camp hosted by People & Songs for young writers and worship leaders, Ryan along May Angeles and Steven Musso authored the song Throne Room Song. After its release in early 2019, the song quickly rose to #3 on the charts, and has since been translated into countless languages becoming an internationally reaching worship song sung by the Church around the globe.

Ryan currently resides in Texas with his wife Charity Gayle where they are forerunners in the movement of denominational reconciliation and are activists for unity in the Church and its surrounding communities. Ryan is also the founder of GatherHouse, a prayer and worship movement fueled by a community of worshippers and revivalists whose vision is to cultivate and steward a culture that celebrates the beautiful and vibrant diversity of God’s people while being unwavering unified in the message of the gospel and the power of the name of Jesus.
