Icewater

There’s an inviting field between the wrought-iron gates of the city and the weathered barns of the country, and standing there is Icewater. In the lineage of Gene Clark, Gram Parsons and Neil Young, Icewater’s sound explodes with signature Wurlitzer, clean green guitar tones and expansive melody. An aching nostalgia stirs in their refreshing contemporary songwriting. Icewater, now, is Noah Hecht, Michael and his brother Jonathan Rosen, and Malcolm Perkins. They used to be Michael, Malcolm and Grant Martin, but Grant passed away during the completion of their first album, and in this wake they vowed to keep Grant’s vision alive. They completed the record, Collector’s Edition, in collaboration with their pain. They couldn’t not. They’ve written and recorded a new album since, called Cardinal, and Cardinal is life after death, bursting from the red clay of Virginia. Icewater is also the backing band for Eleanor Friedberger (of The Fiery Furnaces). They recently collaborated and recorded on her third album, New View, which was released on January 22nd, 2016. http://www.icewaterband.com
