About Jib Kidder

Jib Kidder is guitarist, audio pirate, beat-maker, rap blogger, sidewalk chalk artist & service worker Sean Schuster-Craig. Growing up in Fayetteville Georgia, SSC first copped skills in instrumental southern rock group Heavy Medical Hardware. Through HMH, Sean absorbed the down south guitar stylings of bluegrass performer Jimmy Young, deep local rap & soul history from bassist Matt Miller (director of bounce documentary Ya Heard Me?) and the savant home production techniques of drummer and composer Ben Lawless. These three strands would later come together to form (& inform) JK’s restless sonic palette.

2008 sees the release Kidder’s definitive artistic statement, a pair of out (but still funked out) instrumental rap records as distinct from radio rap as they are from its typical left laptop offshoots, and sometime in the next decade you may stumble upon his buried Human Ear release, Small Guitar
