About Hutch

Clash Magazine - "One of the hardest working figures in London clubland" Ministry of Sound - "A music aficionado through and through" It’s true that you never quite know what you’re going to get with Hutch, but in the club his DJ sets intelligently explore the realms of garage, house and techno with an undeniable amount of groove, energy and soul that is guaranteed to keep a dancefloor vibing! At the age of 19, Hutch became a resident at the legendary Ministry of Sound, hosting the Drum & Bass/ Dubstep/ Garage room, week in week out for three years. It was here that Hutch really cut his teeth - honing his skills on the decks and learning how effortlessly read any crowd. Studying Music Culture in London provided Hutch with an insight into the history and journey of classical and contemporary music genres which has undoubtedly informed his DJ sets today. Having worked as one of the music editors of i-D Magazine, Hutch’s insight into the workings of the music industry and contemporary music deepened, allowing him to stay an edge ahead in a world where the DJ is such a sought after profession. This position proved Hutch was much more than just a DJ. His passion for music and ability to publicly speak lead to numerous appearances on BBC Radio 1’s Review show with Edith Bowman, being a panel member on various industry discussions and hosting keynote interviews at IMS Ibiza. Hutch has played at countless festivals and almost every venue across the country from the East London underground techno scene through to big festivals including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Hideout, Snowbombing Soundwave Croatia, Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, XOYO, Shapes, Plan B, Fire, Lightbox and Studio 338, with residencies for Shapes and rising club nights Regression Sessions, and Tuckshop. These sets have seen him play alongside and support the likes of Jackmaster, Skream, Seth Troxler, B.Traits, MK, Artwork, Shy FX, Benji B, Mark Ronson, My Nu Leng, Mella Dee and Klose One to name just a few.
