the event was f-amazing💜🥹The show started right on time with the first song of the Portals album which was amazing 🤩 It was like an hour long show, where she sang each song of the album💿 The vids prepared for the huge screens behind Lanie had incredible visuals!! I loved them so much!! & each song had their own special animations!!⛸️the back-up dancers were so good and coordinated between each other and gave Melanie’s dance routine an even brighter look!!🪩& i think there’s no need to mention the fact that Melanie has the greatest vocal range ive ever heard in a concert🎶 the outfits and stage changes made everything even better🪻🫶🏻and obviously i cannot end this Memory without mentioning how a great person Lanie is; at the ending of the show, while she was singing “MILK OF THE SIREN” , she exposed a big Palestine flag and said: FREE PALESTINE!!🇵🇸 she was so sweet & left a huge QR on the screen for the public at the end to join free Palestine (if you’re interested the link was: https://ceasefiretoday.com)☁️💜🦋 I loved everything with all my heart, Melanie has wrote the ST of my life🥹💜💜🥺 thank u to everyone & everything that made this possible🫶🏻💜♾️🎧🎀 xoxo 💋

I say this as someone that was a very big fan back in 2016-2018, that stepped back from actively supporting her after the r*pe accusations. A very good show, but felt a little simple compared to her heavily theatrical previous tours. This time there were very few set pieces and costume changes, with most numbers flowing together and easily confused for one another were it not for the video backgrounds playing on a screen behind the stage. It was purely the new album and nothing else. I understand the artistic intent behind keeping to a storyline, but I think all fans would’ve appreciated some of the older songs (perhaps as an encore?). I appreciated the dancers, I could tell much thought was put into the choreography and they really put their heart into performing. I wish they could’ve had some more extravagant looks, and having actual cameras and screens would’ve been great since the venue definitely was big enough to warrant it but unfortunately there was no camera crew. Melanie as a performer has definitely improved since I saw her last time in 2016, being visibly more comfortable on stage and not running around in such a nervous manner anymore. Plays with the crowd some, does some choreography and acts out parts. I love the mask makeup, but once again I wished for more fun outfits! Melanie and the dancers all wore earth toned dresses and drapes, which I guess was to go along with the earthy theme of the album. The sound was good (I always wear earplugs though, blocks out badly programmed sound and screaming fans). Great vocals when they came through, though some songs sounded quite auto tuned (maybe intentional?). Melanie pretty much didn’t speak at all between the songs, only thank yous in the applause. Perhaps a result of previous drama from audiences? The dancers bringing out a huge trans flag in the applause really touched me, as us trans people are often not reared very well. Would’ve loved some kind of speech, but the message was clear!

About Melanie Martinez

Melanie Martinez, born April 28, 1995, in New York City, is a multi-Platinum, 12 billion-streaming alt-pop phenomenon.

Melanie Martinez rose to fame when she competed on the third season of the reality TV show “The Voice," impressing the judges with her rendition of Britney Spears's “Toxic.” After being eliminated in week five, she began working independently on new music.
Since then, Melanie Martinez has continued to carve her own path, creating a genre-bending blend of pop, alternative, and electropop that is uniquely her own. In 2014, she released her debut song, “Dollhouse,” and was later signed to Atlantic Records.

Melanie Martinez truly set forth on what has proven to be a remarkable creative journey with her 2015 debut album, “CRY BABY.” “CRY BABY” took on a stunning second life in 2020 when the longtime fan-favorite “Play Date“ exploded into a true alt-pop sensation with millions of user-generated videos across TikTok. Now boasting over 1 billion worldwide streams along with 2x RIAA Platinum certification, “Play Date” propelled “CRY BABY” back onto the upper half of the Billboard 200 more than five years after its initial release.

In 2019, Melanie Martinez released her second studio album, “K-12.” The album proved a sensation upon its release, entering the Billboard 200 at #3 with further debuts at #1 on the Alternative album chart, and #1 on the Soundtrack album chart. Hailed by Forbes as “a perfect conceptual album in the streaming age,” “K-12” also serves as a soundtrack companion to an eerily enchanting musical film written, directed, and starring Martinez. ”K-12" the film debuted as the 6th highest-grossing film in the US on the day of its September 3, 2019 theatrical release, with one-night-only screenings in over 425 cinemas in 32 countries.

Melanie Martinez has captivated fans with her haunting vocals and evocative visuals. Her latest album, “PORTALS,” released in February 2023, marks the singer-songwriter-filmmaker’s first full-length release in nearly four years following her 2 billion-streaming, RIAA Gold-certified second album, “K-12.”

In addition to her myriad musical and visual efforts, Martinez has shown herself to be an unforgettable live performer via sold-out headline shows and festivals around the planet. From her distinctive hairstyles and fashion choices to her mesmerizing stage presence, every Melanie Martinez concert is an invitation to embrace your own individuality and embrace the beauty of imperfections.
