Mumbai Standstill

Mumbai Standstill was formed just outside of Toronto in Uxbridge, Ontario by Ben Race, Mark Givelas and Jamie Gallard. Early band practices were held in the garage, where the stripped-down acoustic versions of many Mumbai Standstill songs originated. With big things in mind, the 3 members decided on a bigger sound and sought out the talents of CJ Blodgett (banjo) Brett Simmonds (bass) Stuart Retallack (keys/trumpet) and Brandon Cox(drums). The seven of them got started on what would be their debut album Troubles. Amidst the constant shows, rehearsals and writing sessions, Troubles was officially released a year and a half after Mumbai Standstill's inception: a debut album that was recorded, produced and funded directly by the band.
