While Julie was having treatment for the second time, I was watching the London marathon, and thought that it would be a good idea to do a Bike Ride from Lands End to John o'Groats. So I picked up the phone and called my good friend Phil Noon, who agreed immediately, and the Rawhide Riders were formed. Joining myself and Phil on this trip would be, Dave Penford, Jonnie Watchorn and Billy “the machine” Jessop. Lots of fun was had throughout the trip, and money was raised for Cancer Research and the Grantham Hospice.

Since then, we have held an annual Charity gig at Belvoir Cricket Club, to raised money for the Charities , with Phil’s band “Crazy Ape” headlining every year. The Gig has increased in popularity every year and this year, it has gotten even bigger with a total of 7acts performing, bigger staging and better security. So far the Rawhide Riders have raised £70,000, and this year we are expecting to raise a minimum of £15,000. So all being well we will have raised a massive total of £85,000, and if you add Julies £25,000 on top of that, we have now raised more than £100,000 for the charities.

Special thanks go out the Belvoir Cricket Club for allowing us to have these concerts in such beautiful surroundings. Also a massive thank you has to go out to Phil Noon,Phil Britten,Johnny Watchorn and the newest member Richard Hart for all their continued help in organising these events.
