2018 is a special year at the Romanian Cultural Institute as we celebrate, through a special programme of events, 100 years since the unification of all Romanian provinces in one democratic state. The first event of this celebratory series, entitled '100', is a kaleidoscopic journey through the soundscape of Transylvania, Banat, Crişana, Maramureş, Bucovina, Moldova, Bessarabia, Oltenia, Muntenia and Dobrogea, the regions that came together at the end of the Great War, in 1918. Offered by the impressive Imago Mundi Ensemble and performed on period instruments with stunning visuals by Florin Ghenade, the concert provides an irresistible, and metaphorical, blend of the traditional and the contemporary. Imago Mundi are: Adrian Buciu – flutes, shakers / Oana Ivașcu – oboe, tambourine / Ștefan Barbu – violin / Andreea Ţimiraș – cello / Cătălin Ștefănescu-Pătrașcu – kobsa, guitar / Daniel Ivașcu – bendir, shakers / Florin Ghenade – photo, video / Cristian Stănoiu – live video projections. Musical arrangements by Cătălin Ștefănescu-Pătrașcu.
