About this concert
It is often said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so for this night, as the name suggests, our local artists will put their own personal twist on each of the artists who’s identity they have "stolen" for the night. For many BassLights had become the winter "mecca" where the two diverse PL and BN families would all reunite under one roof. This yearly gathering was an opportunity for many of us to solidify bonds with old friends and an awesome place to make new ones! The Identity Theft concept spawned after we learned there wouldn't be a BassLights 2016... A small group of us in the DMV area, who had originally met at BassLights, still wanted a night to jam out exclusively to our favorite PL and BN tracks on a decent sound system. On a random weeknight we organized the first Identity Theft BassLights night and ended up packing out the Red Maple Lounge (RIP!) ! We had an overwhelming request to do the event again but with the exception to make it where it was open to 18+ . We were able to convince our friends at the 8x10 in Baltimore to take a gamble and let us try throwing our first show there that could support some real production and live elements! Unexpectedly last years BassLights night blew up and SOLD OUT before doors even opened?!? For those of you who were there you know the night was nothing short of EPICCCCC!! It was a true family reunion! However, after the show we began hearing how many friends weren't able to get tickets and that there was even scalping going on (WTF ?!?). In response to the overwhelming request from members of both the local BN and PL families to do the event again; we are excited to announce that we will be returning to do it even BIGGER and BETTER!!! This year THE MOTHERSHIP will be landing at Baltimore Soundstage, which means NOBODY should have to miss out on this special FAMILY REUNION!! We've been organizing for almost a year and thrown a few other small shows to be able to help fund this event to make it as awesome and unique as possible! We've been building new custom LED stage production elements from scratch and gathered some brilliant local VJs and Lighting guys to help with visuals and production! Our local DMV laser extraordinaire family at *** X-Laser *** has graciously agreed to help contribute to making the nights' production even more amazing with some extra PEW PEW power! We are even flying our friend Joseph Rich (who played the original PL tribute set at Red Maple) back from his new home in Denver to throw down this years PL set! To top it off this is going to be an extra special event for Nate (Haptik and ID Theft founder) to celebrate his recent engagement to his fiance' Kait in the place where they first met! In addition to the amazing music, our talented friends from The Gradient Perspective will be hosting: Live Painting | Art Gallery | and More **** Plussss it wouldnt be a true FAMILY event without giving something back to those in need so following the example set by your favorite Bass Wizard we will be doing a Dollar per Basshead Donation for every door ticket purchased to a local charity in need !!! **** The musical lineup for this special edition of Identity Theft includes: Official: Haptik and Friends *Live* playing B@ssN3ct@r music: (This set will feature Kasey Ashton bangin on the Drums, Jon Hao You Doin slaying the violin, +++ more local musicians and vocalists TBA as the show approaches!!) Thought Process (Joseph Rich) and Corey King on Drums playing Pr3tty L1ghtz music Choppy Oppy *Live* featuring Al Smith on guitar playing Gr@Mat1k music Sketchy Pete playing Gr1zz music Benny Billian playing Mr. C@rM@ck music
