Crazyhead are an English indie Rock band from Leicester, England. Formed in 1986, they signed to the independent record label, Food Records, later that year and their début single, "What Gives You The Idea That You're So Amazing, Baby?", reached number 2 in the UK Indie Chart in March 1987. For the rest of the year they toured extensively, supporting The Cult, then Julian Cope, and also played the Glastonbury and Reading Festivals. Their second single "Baby Turpentine" reached number 4 in the Indie Chart before they toured Europe with Iggy Pop.
Though lumped in with the largely media-created Grebo scene, they were more influenced by the garage rock of the late 1960s, as well as bands like The Ramones, The Stooges and Captain Beefheart. They described themselves as an "Urban Bastard Blues Band", and their songs ranged in theme from trenchant social commentary to the surreal, but always with an underlying vein of black humour and they were renowned for their live performances.

Spitting Feathers

So here is our band,Hello I am Ash From Spitting Feathers and this is us.Spitting Feathers a new kind of trash after a sonic ride of gigs with bands such as The Rezillos Department S The Members Swamp Delta and lots of festivals played . It's a punk Rockin disco trashy Glunk rockin groovy rampage of songs that should of been left in the crypt of ifyness when last played on radio Luxembourg 40 years ago. People love it laugh with it and dance to it
What we do is take mostly 1970s pop songs and do our own very striped down and garagy primitive take on them. Much the same way that the Cramps would take 50s and 60s songs and do their thing to them. We have played gigs with The Rezillos, Dirt Box Disco, Vice Squad, Louise Distras The Pukes, Ed Tudor , Most people don't see us as a cover band and most gigs we get asked to play are strictly originals nights ! but the sight of a venue full of metal heads or Punks or whoever singing and moshing to Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep is bizarre. and somewhere over the rainbow in the style of the Ramones!
Spitting Feathers are Becky Peace on vocals and Uke, Kosmic Vibe on guitar, Emily Nash Walker on Drums and Tim O Neill on bass
