Slitnir Strengir, also known as Broken Strings have performed all over Iceland and Europe since 2001. The group, led by Ragnar Skúlason consists of 19 female violinists and singers among accompanists playing the piano, drum and bass. The group’s main characteristics is creating shows mixed with different arts, such as violin, singing, acting and poetry recital (speech-formation). Through the years the group has focused on Irish and Scottish music among modern pop songs that the group puts in their own arrangement. Songs like Caledonia, Auld Lang Syne and Toss the Feathers are a great favorite of the group and will be performed at the concert among other fantastic songs.
