Join us for our first “Sunday Jazz Breakfast” with ASCAP Award-winning vocalist Kathy Kosins. We will be hosted in Orange at LT’s Corner for this award-winning jazz artist and acclaimed painter.  Kathy’s amazing voice and style will be accompanied by a stand-up bass and piano rounding out the trio
Kathy will also between sets create two paintings that will be auctioned off as a fundraiser for the Milford Performance Center.  The week before she joins us a collection of her paintings will be on display in the Yale Art Gallery!
Born and bred during the Motown era of Detroit, Kosins began singing and arranging background vocals for producer Don Was (now president of Blue Note Records) in the early eighties, which led to her becoming one of the most sought-after session singers.
In the early 90s, Kosins, a writer, and arranger fell in love with the freedom of the jazz art form and her writing naturally evolved into a more traditional approach. Stints with the JC Heard and Nelson Riddle Orchestras followed and led to a 1996 release of “All In A Dreams Work” (SchoolKids Records), an impressive debut featuring a first rate collection of nine originals and a cover of the Miles Davis composition “Four.” Reported by over 250 Jazz stations, she reached the top 20 in the Gavin Report.
In 2012, she released “To The Ladies Of Cool”, a dedication to the West Coast Cool school of artists. Kathy’s arrangements of those classic pieces stay true to the tradition of lyricism and understatement, yet sound so fresh from those songs that were recorded some 50 plus years ago.
This intimate event will be limited to the first 50 people so do not wait for the last minute as this will be a very special event. LT’s Corner is located at 501 Boston Post Rd.  For more information call 203.723.3672
Tickets include a Breakfast Buffet and 2 - 45-minute sets with Kathy. In between sets, she will create 2 paintings to be auctioned off as a fundraiser for MPC. Event runs from 9:30am-12pm
