Come and join Blues Broers for an evening of entertainment featuring Blues Broers. Simon Orange Rob Nagel and Basson Laubscher After dusting off their instruments following a surprise appearance at the Up the Creek festival last month, the Blues Broers head to Cape Town to perform at a new affiliate of one of their favourite venues, Cafe Roux. The full band will be attending, marking the second year since Basson Laubscher took over the guitar chair from Albert Frost. Jorik Pienaar will be joining longstanding members Rob ‘Big Bob’ Nagel and Simon Orange on drums and percussion. A regular feature of the Blues Broers’s show is the ‘Skiffle set’. Skiffle is a form of blues that is played on home-made or improvised instruments and the band use a tea-chest bass, a washboard, a harmonica or Kazoo and a resonator guitar to re-create the sound of the 1950’s. They first used the skiffle line-up to advertise the legendary “Smokehouse” nightclub in Cape Town in the nineties, and later on the street at the Grahamstown Arts Festival, and it proved so popular that they’ve permanently included it in their live show. **PLEASE NOTE: DINNER FROM 6.30/7PM. SHOW TO START AT 8.30PM
